Timika – The Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force held a gathering with Papuan journalists on Saturday (April 25, 2026) at 4:00 PM WIT at a coffee shop in Mimika Regency. This activity aimed to strengthen synergy and communication between security forces and the press to support the dissemination of accurate, balanced, and responsible information in Papua.
The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Andria, S.I.K., along with several journalists from various media outlets serving in Papua. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, providing an opportunity for open discussion between the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force and media partners.
On that occasion, the Deputy Head of the Public Relations Task Force, AKBP Andria, stated that this gathering was not only a way to strengthen relationships, but also a strategic forum for exchanging information and gathering input from journalists.
“We hope that activities like this can continue to be held regularly as a forum for open communication, so that the partnership between the Task Force and media partners will grow stronger,” said AKBP Andria.
During the discussion and question-and-answer session, several journalists provided input regarding technical aspects of field coverage, particularly in firefights, so that filming can be carried out professionally and coordinated for the safety of all.
In response, AKBP Andria explained that in compiling the narrative, his team also considered protection and security aspects, including not including specific identities as part of efforts to ensure the safety of sources.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that synergy with the media is crucial to the success of the operation, particularly in maintaining security and public order in Papua.
“The media plays a strategic role in conveying accurate and reassuring information to the public. We hope this collaboration will continue to be strengthened to maintain public order and security in Papua,” said the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations.
Echoing this sentiment, the Deputy Head of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operations, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of collaboration between security forces and the press in creating a conducive atmosphere.
“Good collaboration between the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the media will have a positive impact on building public trust and maintaining a safe and peaceful situation,” said the Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the relationship between the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force and the press in the Papua region, especially Timika, will become stronger and able to support the creation of a safe, peaceful, and conducive situation.
