PEGUNUNGAN BINTANG — A calm morning in Kabiding Village, Oksibil District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, on Monday (March 16, 2026), felt slightly different as personnel of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force 2026 carried out a humanist patrol through the village. Amid the cool mountain air, the presence of security officers was warmly welcomed by local residents and the cheerful laughter of schoolchildren beginning their day of learning.
The patrol, led by First Inspector (Ipda) Ranto Ahmad Chamdani, S.Km, involved ten personnel from the Task Force’s enforcement unit. In addition to monitoring the security situation around SD Balil Kabiding 2 Elementary School, the officers also took time to greet residents they encountered along the village pathways.
Several children who were in the schoolyard appeared curious upon seeing the officers arrive. With hesitant yet curious steps, they approached the personnel. The task force members responded with friendly smiles and warm greetings. What initially felt like a shy encounter gradually turned into a relaxed and friendly atmosphere as the officers chatted with the students, asking about their school activities and sharing light conversations.
In another corner of the village, several residents who were going about their daily activities also greeted the officers. Simple conversations unfolded—discussing daily life in the village, the current situation in the area, and hopes that the environment would remain safe so that children could continue their education peacefully.
The presence of security personnel among the community that morning was not merely about conducting a security patrol. More than that, the activity created a warm space for interaction between officers and residents who live side by side in the mountainous region of Papua.
Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that a humanistic approach is an essential element in every mission carried out in Papua.
“A humanistic approach is an important part of our duties in Papua. Through patrols like this, our personnel not only ensure that the security situation remains stable, but also build positive communication with the community so that the presence of the police is truly felt and beneficial to society,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2026, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that closeness with the community is a key foundation in maintaining security stability in operational areas.
“The presence of personnel within the community is not only to maintain security but also to build trust and stronger relationships. With good communication, people will feel safer and can also take part in maintaining security within their own environment,” he stated.
As the patrol came to an end, the personnel continued monitoring the surrounding areas before leaving the village. Meanwhile, the children returned to their classrooms with cheerful expressions, leaving behind a small but meaningful moment of interaction that brought both a sense of security and warmth to Kabiding Village.
Based on the results of the patrol, the situation in Kabiding Village was reported to be safe and conducive. For the local residents, the presence of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force is not only seen as security guardians, but also as friends who are present in their daily lives.
