Mulia – Personnel from the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation Task Force conducted a dialogue patrol, visiting residents in Kulirik District and heading towards Mulia City, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Wednesday afternoon.
During the patrol, personnel not only monitored the security situation but also stopped at several residential areas to interact directly with the community. Personnel were seen greeting residents, engaging in casual conversation, and listening to various concerns expressed by the community regarding conditions in their neighborhood.
A friendly atmosphere was evident as residents warmly welcomed the officers. Several children also approached the officers and chatted without any awkwardness, reflecting the close relationship between the officers and the community.
Local community leaders expressed their appreciation for the routine patrols, as they believed they provided a sense of security and demonstrated the officers’ concern for the lives of residents in the area.
Head of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that a humanistic approach is crucial in maintaining security stability in Papua.
He emphasized that the presence of officers among the community serves not only as security guards, but also as partners building communication and trust with residents.
“A persuasive approach and good communication are key to building public trust so that the security situation can remain conducive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Cartenz 2026 Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, stated that dialogic patrols are an effective way for personnel to understand the community’s situation directly on the ground.
According to him, the closeness built through these interactions also encourages the community to be more open in providing information regarding neighborhood security.
“With good communication, the community and officers can work together to maintain a safe and conducive situation,” he said.
Following the patrol, all personnel returned to the Kulirik Post to conduct a consolidation. Throughout the patrol, the security situation in the Kulirik District reportedly remained safe and under control.
Through these dialogic patrols, Operation Peace Carstensz 2026 continues to prioritize a humanist approach to strengthen relations between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the community in the Papua region.
