Paniai – A friendly atmosphere was evident in Aikai Village, Paniai Regency, when personnel from the Paniai Sector Brimob, participating in Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, visited the residential area. Far from appearing stiff, the officers’ presence this time carried a mission of brotherhood through a humanistic visit.
In between security duties, the personnel mingled, sat with traditional leaders, and engaged in casual discussions with local youth. This opportunity was used to hear people’s concerns and convey a message of peace: that keeping one’s hometown safe is a noble task that must be carried out together.
Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, emphasized that the heart of this operation is a humanitarian approach.
“We prioritize dialogue. The presence of personnel among the residents is to foster trust. Genuine synergy between officers and the community is the main foundation for a peaceful Papua,” he said.
Meanwhile, Paniai Sector Commander, First Inspector Ari Wiyono, stated that smiling and greeting personnel with residents is a simple yet impactful strategy. “This is our way of building trust. We want residents to feel comfortable, not afraid. This close relationship will create peace in Paniai,” said First Inspector Ari.
This warm interaction was welcomed by the residents of Aikai Village. Residents said the presence of officers made them feel protected and hoped that such gatherings would become a regular occurrence in their village.
