MIMIKA — The Enforcement Task Force of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 carried out a community clean-up activity at the GKI Ottow Geissler Church, Mile 32, Kuala Kencana, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, on Friday, January 23, 2026. The activity formed part of the Indonesian National Police’s humanist approach to maintaining peace while strengthening relations with the local community and religious institutions within the operational area.
In addition to conducting patrols and law enforcement duties, personnel of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 dedicated time to participate in joint community service at the church premises. The activity also served as an opportunity for social outreach and communication with church administrators and congregants, aimed at reinforcing synergy between security forces and the community.
The Head of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026, Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that Operation Damai Cartenz prioritizes the values of peace and interfaith tolerance.
“Maintaining peace and security in Papua is not achieved solely through security operations, but also through sincere presence within the community. Places of worship are symbols of peace, and the Indonesian National Police are present to care for them together with the community,” Brigjen Pol. Faizal Ramadhani stated.
The activity received a positive response from the church. Rev. Rocky Thaime, S.Si., M.M., a local church leader, expressed his appreciation for the involvement of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 personnel in the religious social activity.
“We truly feel the humanist presence of the police. This clean-up activity is not only about the environment, but also about building a sense of safety, togetherness, and trust. Operation Damai Cartenz conveys a message of peace to the congregation,” he said.
Throughout the activity, the situation remained safe and conducive. This church clean-up initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 to maintaining security stability in Papua through a persuasive, respectful, and community-oriented approach.
