Peace Cartenz Task Force’s Sharing Initiative: From Compassion Comes Trust

Timika — Social responsibility is not solely the duty of humanitarian organizations; it also rests on the shoulders of law enforcement. Amid the challenges of maintaining security and order, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) demonstrates that a human-centered approach is the key to building public trust. This spirit was reflected in the social outreach conducted by the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Timika Post, in Mimika Regency on Friday (October 31, 2025).

The activity, which began at 3:00 p.m. local time, was more than just the distribution of food and beverages. Behind this simple gesture lies a powerful message: Polri’s presence is not limited to enforcing the law — it also embodies compassion and humanity among the people of Papua. The main recipients of this effort — street workers, garbage collectors, and children — symbolize those often overlooked by society, though they play an essential role in the heartbeat of the city.

Through such initiatives, Polri seeks to dispel the perception that police officers only appear when enforcing the law. On the contrary, social activities serve as a bridge to strengthen emotional connections between officers and citizens. Task Force members Bripda Annisa Mahardika and Bripda Alfesa Hafiz Bagaskara did more than distribute aid — they also took time to chat and engage warmly with the community, showing that social closeness can go hand in hand with professional policing.

Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that social engagement is an integral part of Polri’s strategy to maintain sustainable security and peace. According to him, a persuasive and empathetic approach is far more effective in fostering mutual trust between officers and the public.

“We want to show that the presence of the police is not only about law enforcement but also about sharing compassion and easing the burdens of society,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., underscored the importance of community collaboration in preserving peace across Papua. He reminded residents to remain vigilant and not be influenced by groups seeking to disrupt harmony in the region.

“Let’s work together to maintain peace in the Land of Papua. Place your trust in the police to safeguard public security and order,” urged Comm. Adarma Sinaga.

Given the ongoing social challenges in Papua, initiatives like this should not be seen merely as routine activities, but as a powerful communication strategy to cultivate lasting peace. By being present with empathy and humanity, Polri not only upholds the law — it upholds the very values of humanity that form the foundation of true peace.
