Jayapura — Following the repeat gubernatorial election (PSU) in Papua, the public has been urged to preserve unity and avoid division. Anderson Tokoro, Ondofolo (traditional leader) of Homfolo Village, Ebungfauw District, Jayapura Regency, emphasized that whoever is ultimately elected is part of God’s will and should be received with gratitude.

“We must not allow ourselves to be divided. Instead, let us support one another and ensure that those who have been chosen can work effectively for the welfare of society,” Anderson stated on Saturday (August 16, 2025).

He also reminded the community of the importance of maintaining togetherness and refraining from belittling one another in responding to the election results. According to him, democracy should not be seen as a source of conflict but as a platform for choosing the best leader to build Papua.

Furthermore, Anderson underscored that Papua is a valuable ancestral land that must be safeguarded collectively. He called on all citizens to remain grateful for God’s blessings while prioritizing unity and peace above all else.

“Whatever the outcome, we must accept it wholeheartedly. Differences in political choices must never turn us into enemies,” he affirmed.
