Jayapura – The Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) has called on the people of Cenderawasih Land to continue fostering pride as part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), especially in commemoration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

MRP Chairperson Nerlince Wamuar, speaking in Jayapura on Sunday, emphasized that Indonesia has been blessed with fertile land and abundant natural resources, which should be a source of gratitude for all citizens.

“Not every country in the world is blessed with fertile soil like Indonesia, including here in Papua. Therefore, as Papuans, we should be proud to be part of Indonesia,” she said.

She noted that the 80th Independence Day serves as a meaningful moment to strengthen unity and deepen the sense of belonging to the Indonesian nation.

“Indonesia’s fertile land and natural wealth belong to all of us and must be safeguarded together for the welfare of the entire population, including those in Papua,” Wamuar added.

The MRP Chairperson also highlighted the crucial role of Papua’s young generation in preserving national values. She stressed that love for the homeland must be instilled from an early age so that future generations can embody it in their daily lives.

“Papuan youth must not only understand national values but also live by them. Memorizing Pancasila, honoring the red-and-white flag, and safeguarding unity are true expressions of patriotism,” she affirmed.

With this spirit, Wamuar expressed hope that all Indonesians, from Sabang to Merauke, will continue to uphold their pride as part of the Indonesian nation.
