Mimika, Central Papua – As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the local community, personnel from the Public Relations Task Force (Satgas Humas) of Operation Peace Cartenz at the Timika Post carried out a heartwarming outreach activity with children near PT. Indo Papua, SP2 District, Mimika Regency, on Saturday afternoon (June 23, 2023), at 4:30 PM WIT.
The activity took place in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Public Relations personnel interacted closely with local children, handing out candies and engaging in light-hearted conversations that brought laughter and smiles to their faces. This moment of connection reflected the humanist approach promoted by Operation Peace Cartenz.
Two officers from the Timika Post involved in the activity were Briptu Yoga Yandika, S.H. and Bripda M. Adharmansyah Rumakat, who participated sincerely and blended seamlessly with the local community, presenting the Indonesian National Police as friendly, compassionate, and committed to public service.
“We want to show that the police are not only here to enforce the law, but also to serve with sincerity, especially for the children of Papua who are the future of this nation,” said Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, accompanied by Deputy Commander Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum.
The event proceeded safely and was warmly received by residents in the area. The personal approach taken by the personnel helped strengthen emotional bonds between law enforcement and the community, fostering a deeper sense of trust and security among the people.
Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., Head of the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz, emphasized the importance of this kind of community engagement.
“Every child’s smile is a new source of energy for us. The mission of peace cannot rely solely on patrols, but must also be carried out through warm gestures, friendly conversations, and shared moments like these,” he said.
Through activities like this, Operation Peace Cartenz reaffirms that the presence of the state in Papua is not only about enforcing laws and ensuring security, but also about demonstrating genuine care and delivering heartfelt public service.
