Timika, Papua – Jhon Murib, a prominent community leader of the Dani Tribe in Mimika Regency, expressed his highest appreciation to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) through the Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 for their success in uncovering a network supplying firearms and ammunition to Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) in Papua. This appreciation was conveyed at his residence on Tuesday (18/3).
The Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, in collaboration with the Papua Regional Police, West Papua Regional Police, East Java Regional Police, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Regional Police, has been praised for taking concrete steps to ensure the safety and security of the Papuan people from the threats posed by KKB. “This success deserves appreciation as a real effort to create a conducive public security and order situation for all people in Papua,” said Jhon Murib.
In addition, Jhon Murib also expressed his full support for the government’s program related to the Free Nutritious Food Program (MBG) in Papua. According to him, this program is crucial for supporting the growth and health of school children in Papua. “The MBG program is excellent for ensuring that children receive healthy meals in accordance with the nutritional standards set by the government,” he said.
Jhon Murib also called for active parental involvement in providing proper guidance to children so they are not easily influenced by certain individuals or groups with personal agendas. “We hope parents can guide their children to avoid becoming victims of the interests of certain groups,” he emphasized.
On the same occasion, Jhon Murib also urged all Papuan communities to work together in maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas) during the holy month of Ramadan. “Let us uphold tolerance among religious communities and demonstrate that Papua holds strong values of togetherness and mutual respect among people of different faiths,” he appealed.
He called on all religious leaders, community figures, and the public to support the creation of a safe, comfortable, and harmonious environment in Papua. “Through cooperation and mutual respect, we can build a peaceful and prosperous Papua,” he concluded.
The support and appeal from community leader Jhon Murib are expected to strengthen the efforts of the government and security forces in creating a safe, healthy, and harmonious Papua for all its people.
