Timika- The implementation of the democratic party for the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) for the Regent-Deputy Regent of Mimika and the Governor-Deputy Governor of Central Papua is only three months away.
In this regard, the people of Mimika are reminded to remain united, even though they are different in providing support for the regional head candidates who will compete on November 27 2024.
This call was conveyed by Luky Mahakena, S.Sos, M.S.i, Chair of the Mimika Regency Community Early Awareness Forum (FKDM) when interviewed.
It was said that the people of Mimika need to support the successful holding of the Pilkada by maintaining togetherness and brotherhood by continuing to maintain the slogan ‘Mimika Our Home is Safe and Peaceful’.
“The political constellation leading up to the Pilkada is quite high which could have an impact on social awareness. “Because of that, society needs to avoid perceptions built by certain individuals that can damage harmony,” said Luky.
He said, maintaining Community Security and Order (Kamtibmas) needs to be built in a complete integration, so that differences can be united into unity.
“The point is that the regional elections only lasted a short time, but brotherhood has existed for a long time. “So don’t let differences in political views divide us,” advised Luky.
It is said that local wisdom (local wisdom) is very important for everyone to apply in responding to events or answering various problems that exist in society.
“Let’s all work together to maintain Mimika’s good name for the land of Papua in this year’s regional elections. “There will be no conflict and all stages up to voting day can take place safely and peacefully,” hoped Luky.
The Mimika Regional Government (Pemda) together with the TNI-Polri are asked to remain focused on maintaining togetherness and brotherhood so that the security and social order of this region is maintained.
“The people of Mimika are no longer immune to all kinds of issues, propaganda or provocation. “Because I believe that people are no longer easily pitted against each other,” he said.
