Jayapura – Paniai Police Chief, AKBP Abdus Syukur Felani, clarified the news regarding the expulsion of Paniai Hospital patients by TNI-Polri officers. Felani emphasized that the news was not true and asked the public not to easily believe in information whose source was unclear.

“We from the TNI-Polri are securing the RSUD because the RSUD is a vital object that needs to be secured in order to provide a sense of security to the community. “It is not true that there is an expulsion of patients, in fact the presence of the TNI-Polri is to provide a sense of security to both patients and health workers,” said Paniai Police Chief, Sunday (26/05/2024)

It was said that regarding the closure of the ER door, the Police Chief said that the closure was a precautionary measure taken by RSUD officers and was the RSUD officers’ own initiative because the door lock was damaged, and the officers on duty on Sunday morning did not come. So, to prevent theft from occurring in the room, RSUD officers closed it.

Meanwhile, one of the RSUD officers who closed the room door said that the closure was carried out to prevent the loss of equipment in the RSUD room, and this action was the initiative of the RSUD officers themselves.

“Actually, we closed it because we were anticipating that the equipment inside would be lost, the lock was broken, and those on morning duty didn’t come because they were afraid. If you open it, the tools inside will disappear. “This door was opened outward so it was closed from the outside,” said the Paniai Regional Hospital officer.

Paniai Police Chief, AKBP Abdus Syukur Felani, appealed to the public not to easily believe in hoax news circulating.
