Jayapura- Head of Kinaomakada Dormitory, Yumiron Telenggeng asked students, dormitory heads, seniors from Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, who are studying in Jayapura City, Papua, to remain focused on repeating themselves as students.
“I ask everyone to remain focused on studying according to the expectations of our village parents so that we can be successful. “Respect the costs incurred by our parents who are struggling to find money for their younger siblings’ studies,” said Yumiron, Thursday (25/4/2024).
Yumiron reminded Puncak Jaya students not to be influenced by demonstrations carried out by groups of people at certain moments.
In particular, said Yumiron, May 1 2024 is claimed as Papuan Nation Annexation Day or the Annexation of West Papua by some Papuan people.
“You are not allowed to invite other people to carry out demonstrations that will harm yourself and your family. “We know that we are students from Puncak Jaya who were born from Honai or Adat,” he explained.
As a student, Yumiron asked students from Puncak Jaya to set an example in maintaining peace.
“Let’s protect our traditional culture by keeping the situation in Tanah Tabi safe,” he asked.
