SURABAYA, East Java – Support from the business sector for communities in Papua continues through practical assistance aimed at meeting everyday needs. A total of 2,000 pairs of sandals were donated by PT HOB (Harpa Ocean Bersama), PT Jayadi Lines, and PT Landasindo to the Task Force Assistance Unit of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 for distribution to communities in need.
The assistance was handed over at the PT HOB office on Jalan Ikan Mungsing VIII No. 15, Perak Barat, Krembangan District, Surabaya, East Java, Friday (August 14, 2026).
The donation was received by Chief Commissioner of Police Bambang Widiyatmoko, S.H., M.M., Head of the Assistance Unit of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, from company representatives Yanuar Ilham, Director of PT HOB; Surya Hadiyanto, Director of PT Landasindo; and Tatang Soemantri, Director of PT Jayadi Lines.
The donated sandals will be transported to Timika before being distributed to communities based on needs identified in the field.
Chief Commissioner of Police Bambang Widiyatmoko expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the three companies.
“This assistance is a form of concern and support from the companies for communities in Papua. Once the delivery process is completed, we will distribute the assistance to people in need so that its benefits can be felt directly,” said Bambang.
He said everyday necessities such as sandals can provide practical benefits, particularly for people who need basic equipment to support their daily activities.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., also expressed his appreciation to PT HOB, PT Jayadi Lines, and PT Landasindo for their support for communities in Papua.
“We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the companies that have provided this assistance. Sandals may seem simple, but for people who need them, the benefits can be felt directly in supporting their daily activities,” said the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026.
He said community support can take many forms, depending on needs on the ground. The assistance is expected to help ease people’s daily needs while demonstrating that concern for Papua is a shared responsibility.
“The most important thing about this assistance is its benefit to the community. We hope the assistance will truly reach those who need it and can be used to support their daily activities. This kind of synergy also shows that concern for communities can be built together by the government, security personnel, the business sector, and various elements of society,” he added.
The assistance will subsequently be transported to Timika. The Task Force Assistance Unit of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 will support the distribution process to ensure the sandals reach communities in need.
The private-sector contribution reflects a spirit of cooperation in providing direct benefits to communities. Through simple assistance that responds to practical needs, various parties hope to strengthen a sense of care and solidarity with communities in Papua.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 emphasizes that assistance received will be directed toward benefiting communities and supporting stronger relations between various stakeholders and the people of Papua.
