Jayapura – The Papua Regional Office of Indonesia’s State Logistics Agency (Bulog) announced that the distribution of government food assistance across Papua has reached approximately 95 percent of its targeted allocation. The achievement reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening food security and supporting communities in meeting their basic daily needs.
Head of Bulog Papua Regional Office, Ahmad Mustari, stated that the agency continues to ensure that food assistance reaches all eligible beneficiaries, including those living in remote areas with challenging geographical conditions and limited transportation access.
“We are accelerating the distribution process to ensure that food assistance reaches communities on time. Despite logistical challenges, particularly in mountainous regions that rely heavily on air transportation, Bulog remains committed to completing the distribution so that all beneficiaries receive their allocated assistance,” said Ahmad Mustari.
He explained that Bulog has been working closely with local governments, security personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of assistance throughout the region.
In addition to distributing food aid, Bulog has also maintained adequate government rice reserves to support food security programs and ensure the availability of staple food supplies across Papua.
“We are optimistic that the remaining distribution process will be completed soon. Bulog also guarantees that rice stocks remain sufficient, ensuring that the public does not need to worry about food availability,” he added.
With distribution nearing completion, Bulog hopes the food assistance program will provide tangible benefits to communities across Papua while supporting the government’s efforts to improve public welfare and maintain food stability throughout the region.
