Yahukimo – Efforts to maintain security and provide a sense of peace to the community continue to be carried out by the joint officers of the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force together with the Yahukimo Police through walking patrols at a number of strategic points of Dekai City, Yahukimo Regency, Pegunungan Papua, Monday night (1/6/2026) until early morning.
The patrol activity is part of the apparatus’s preventive steps in ensuring that the kamtibmas situation remains conducive and provides security guarantees for people who are active in the Dekai City area. By walking along residential areas, main road sections, to points that are considered vulnerable, personnel try to prevent potential security disturbances early on.
The patrol started from the Yahukimo Police Station and continued to a number of locations, including the PJPR Complex, Anggruk Street, the intersection of Jalan Anggruk, the residential area of Line 3, to the area around the Dekai Police. In its implementation, personnel also conduct a humanistic vehicle inspection of two-wheeled and four-wheeled drivers who pass by to ensure that the security of the area is maintained.
The presence of officers in the field received a positive response from the community because it was considered to be able to provide a sense of security, especially at night until early morning. In addition to monitoring the situation, personnel also interact with residents and convey kamtibmas messages so that the community also plays a role in maintaining the safety of their respective environments.
Head of Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., said that routine patrols are one of the important steps in maintaining security stability and preventing the emergence of kamtibmas disturbances in the Papua Mountainous region.
“This walking patrol is a form of state presence in the community to provide a sense of security and prevent security disturbances that can disrupt community activities,” said Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operations Cartenz-2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that all patrol activities are carried out by putting forward a persuasive and humanistic approach so that the public feels comfortable with the presence of officers.
“We continue to put forward persuasive and humanistic steps in maintaining the kamtibmas situation so that people feel safe, comfortable, and still able to carry out their daily activities normally,” said Adarma Sinaga.
From the results of the patrol carried out, the security situation in the Dekai City area was monitored to be safe and conducive. No prominent activities were found that had the potential to interfere with security, while community activities were normal as usual.
The Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force emphasized its commitment to continue to be present in the community through various preventive and humanistic activities to maintain security stability and support the creation of a safe and peaceful situation in Yahukimo Regency.
