Jayapura – The Public Relations Task Force for the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation held a gathering and shared a meal with journalists in Jayapura City, Papua, last Saturday (April 25th), as an effort to strengthen synergy in maintaining information stability in the region.

The event, which took place at the Wong Solo Restaurant in Jayapura, was led by the Head of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., and attended by around 30 journalists from various local Papuan media outlets.

On this occasion, Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the press for their support and cooperation during the implementation of the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation.

“We would like to thank our media partners who have been strategic partners in conveying information to the public in a balanced and constructive manner,” he said.

He emphasized that the media plays a crucial role in maintaining information stability, particularly in Papua, and therefore, synergy between security forces and the press needs to be continuously strengthened.

In addition to being a forum for camaraderie, the event also served as an opportunity for a lighthearted discussion regarding the dynamics of news reporting in Papua, including the challenges and role of the media in supporting a conducive public order and security situation.

According to him, an open and humane communication approach is crucial for building public trust, including through partnerships with the media.

“Through this activity, we want to build closer and more open communication with our fellow journalists,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Inspector General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that synergy with the media is crucial for supporting the success of the operation, particularly in maintaining security and public order in Papua.

“The media plays a strategic role in conveying accurate and reassuring information to the public. We hope this collaboration will continue to be strengthened to maintain public order and security stability in Papua,” he said.

Similarly, the Deputy Chief of the Carstensz Peace Operation, Senior Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized the importance of collaboration between security forces and the press in creating a conducive atmosphere.

“Good collaboration between the Task Force and the media will have a positive impact on building public trust and maintaining a safe and peaceful situation,” he said.

He hopes that through this gathering, the relationship between the Carstensz-2026 Peace Operation Task Force and the media will become stronger and able to support the creation of a safe and conducive Papua.
