Jayapura – The Papua Regional Police (Polda) asked all officers of the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) to actively report customers who purchase fuel oil (BBM) not in accordance with the provisions. This step is carried out as an effort to prevent misuse of fuel distribution, especially subsidized fuel.
The Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Reskrimsus) of the Papua Regional Police, Rama Samtama Putra, emphasized that gas station officers do not need to hesitate to report if they find indications of violations in the field, including if they receive pressure or threats from certain parties.
“Don’t be afraid to report to the police if there is a naughty customer who tries to fill up the fuel not according to the regulations, even threatening,” he said when doing a sudden inspection (sidak) at the APO gas station, Jayapura, Tuesday.
In the sidak activity, the police also emphasized the importance of compliance with the barcode system that has been implemented by the government. Every purchase of fuel, especially the subsidized type, must be adjusted to the vehicle data, including the police number.
According to him, gas station officers must be firm by not serving fuel purchases that are carried out repeatedly by the same party, especially if it is indicated that it will be bought back and sold illegally.
“Officers must ensure that every purchase is in accordance with the rules. If someone repeatedly buys and is suspicious, it should not be served and reported immediately,” he said.
He added, the cooperation between gas station officers and law enforcement officers is the key in uncovering the practice of misuse of fuel distribution in the field. With fast and accurate reporting, every violation can be immediately followed up according to the applicable legal provisions.
This step is expected to strengthen the supervision of fuel distribution in Papua, so that the distribution is on target and the benefits are really felt by the entitled community, especially in maintaining the stability of energy supply in the region.
