Jayapura – Papua Governor Matius D. Fakhiri has requested that hospitals in nine regencies and cities, particularly government-owned ones, implement the One-Stop Service innovation to provide faster, more accessible, and more convenient healthcare services.
According to him, this system is crucial to ensure the public has no difficulty managing administrative tasks when seeking healthcare services, particularly in hospital Emergency Rooms (ERs).
“If possible, all government hospitals can implement this innovation, making it easier for people seeking treatment,” said Fakhiri in Jayapura City on Friday (March 20, 2026).
He emphasized that all supporting services must be available in one location, so patients can undergo registration, doctor consultations, medical procedures, and even medication collection in one service area, without having to travel from one location to another.
“So, if possible, the ER should have everything complete. From Civil Registration (Dukcapil), BPJS (Social Security), and then the hospital itself should have it,” he said.
He stated that the system is a strategic step in improving service quality and improving the patient experience during healthcare.
“This concept optimizes the service process, focuses on efficiency, and prioritizes friendliness. Furthermore, people no longer have to travel to different locations to handle administrative needs during treatment,” he explained.
“We will improve it, hopefully, healthcare services can continue to reach the public and be affordable,” he emphasized.
He also acknowledged that there are still shortcomings at the hospital. “There are definitely shortcomings; if you look for them, they will be there. But we are all working on improvements,” he said.
