Puncak – The market activity in Sinak District on Sunday (March 22, 2026) appeared livelier than usual. Amidst the routine of buying and selling, the presence of personnel from the Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 was not only about conducting security patrols but also had a direct impact on local traders, particularly the Papuan mothers.
Through dialogical patrols conducted in a humanist manner, the personnel did not merely monitor the security and public order situation but also built warm interactions with the community. One tangible example was when the officers purchased local produce sold by residents, ranging from vegetables to tubers, which often remain unsold.
For the mothers, this gesture was more than just a sales transaction. The presence of officers willing to interact and buy their goods symbolized a sense of care and provided an economic boost amidst limited market access.
“Usually, if things don’t sell out, we have to take them back home. But today, many items were bought,” said one trader with a beaming face.
This activity is part of the persuasive approach employed by the Cartenz Peace Task Force, which not only focuses on security stability but also seeks to engage with the daily dynamics of community life.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the humanist approach is aimed at fostering a sense of security while simultaneously building public trust.
“Security and welfare are interconnected. When the community feels cared for, trust will grow, and the security and public order situation will become more conducive,” stated Brigadier General of Police Faizal.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2026, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that humanist patrol activities that directly engage with the community’s economic activities represent a concrete step in building closer relationships between the authorities and the residents.
“We encourage this approach so that the presence of personnel in the field is genuinely felt by the community as beneficial, both in terms of security and support for local economic activities,” he explained.
More than just a sporadic activity, this approach is expected to be continuously developed as a bridge between the authorities and the community, while also boosting local economic circulation in the Papua region.
