PANIAI – A spirit of togetherness and social compassion marked the affordable market program organized by the Paniai Regency Government ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri. The event was officially opened by the Regent of Paniai, Yampit Nawipa, on Friday (March 13, 2026) in East Paniai District, held at the courtyard of Al-Mubarak Mosque Enarotali.
The affordable market reflects the local government’s commitment to supporting residents in meeting their basic needs at more affordable prices ahead of the religious holiday. Various essential goods such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, eggs, and other daily necessities were provided to make it easier for the community to shop.
In his remarks, Regent Yampit Nawipa stated that the demand for basic goods usually increases ahead of major religious celebrations. Therefore, the local government initiated the affordable market program to ensure that residents can obtain essential commodities at prices lower than those in the regular market.
“Through this affordable market, the local government wants to be present and assist the community so that basic necessities can be obtained at more affordable prices,” he said.
The program not only aims to ease the economic burden on residents but also serves as part of the government’s effort to maintain the stability of basic commodity prices ahead of the holiday season.
Moreover, the affordable market reflects the synergy of various parties in serving the community. Support from multiple sectors, including security personnel, helped ensure the event ran safely and orderly, allowing residents to shop comfortably.
After officially opening the event, the regent—affectionately known as Womaki—also handed over assistance to Al-Mubarak Mosque Enarotali as a gesture of care for religious facilities and community social life.
On the occasion, he expressed hope that the period leading up to Eid al-Fitr would become a moment to strengthen unity, promote interfaith tolerance, and maintain a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in Paniai Regency.
“We hope this assistance can help ease the community’s needs ahead of the holiday while strengthening the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood among the people,” he said.
The Paniai Regency Government hopes the affordable market program will help support the local economy and continue as a sustainable initiative that brings real benefits to residents, especially during important religious moments.
