INTAN JAYA — A warm and heartfelt moment unfolded when personnel of the Damai Cartenz Operation 2026 Task Force, Intan Jaya Sector, stopped at a local community garden in Sugapa District on Tuesday (March 3, 2026).
Amid their routine security patrol, officers took time to interact with Papuan mothers and children, handing out snacks that were immediately met with bright smiles and cheerful laughter.
Their presence that afternoon was not solely about ensuring security. The officers greeted residents one by one, engaged in casual conversations, and sat down with curious children who gathered around to see the police officers visiting the newly opened garden. Some children showed great excitement as snacks were distributed, and laughter filled the air as officers shared light jokes and friendly chats. Surrounded by freshly cleared land and young crops, the atmosphere felt relaxed, friendly, and free of barriers.
The activity was led directly by Sector Commander AKP Syahril Arditya, S.Tr.K., S.I.K. In addition to engaging with residents, personnel also ensured that access routes around the area remained safe for community activities.
Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that a human-centered approach will continue to be prioritized in carrying out duties in Papua.
“We want the community to feel that the presence of the police is not only about maintaining security, but also about being a friend to the people,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Operation 2026, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that building close relationships with residents is an essential part of maintaining a conducive situation.
“The presence of officers among the community must bring a sense of safety and comfort. Good communication and warm interaction will strengthen trust and cooperation in maintaining security within the community,” he said.
Through simple moments of togetherness in a community garden, the officers hope to continue fostering warm relationships with residents, allowing a shared sense of security to grow across Intan Jaya.
