Yahukimo — The Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 Task Force moved swiftly to respond to a stabbing incident involving a resident named Nurdi (53) on Elite Street, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on Saturday (November 1, 2025), at around 3:50 p.m. Eastern Indonesia Time (WIT).
The initial response was led by Inspector (IPDA) Muhammad Hasan, Head of the Investigation Unit (Kanit Lidik) of the Law Enforcement Task Force (Gakkum) in Yahukimo, along with six other personnel. Upon arrival, the team immediately conducted a crime scene investigation and coordinated with Dekai Regional Hospital (RSUD Dekai). The victim sustained a stab wound to the right side of the chin and a cut on the back of the neck but remained conscious and received medical treatment.
According to witness N.A. (23), three unidentified men pretended to buy fuel at the victim’s kiosk before launching the attack. CCTV footage captured the suspects using sharp weapons against the victim before fleeing toward Elite Street.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that investigators have secured key evidence, including CCTV footage and witness testimonies, to identify the perpetrators.
“The joint team from Operation Peace Cartenz and Yahukimo Police continues to carry out investigative measures to apprehend the suspects and ensure the situation remains under control,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police (Kombes Pol) Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that any form of violence against civilians will be dealt with firmly.
“We are committed to maintaining security in Yahukimo and enforcing the law professionally,” affirmed Chief Comm. Adarma Sinaga.
As of now, the Operation Peace Cartenz Task Force and Yahukimo Police continue to pursue the investigation. The overall situation in Yahukimo Regency remains safe and under control under the supervision of joint security personnel.
