WAROPEN,— The Chairman of the Eastern Kai Tribe Council of Waropen Regency, Albert Wopari, appealed to the entire community to maintain order and not to be provoked following the burning of the Cenderawsih Makota by the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) of Papua.
Albert emphasized that the action was not justified, but the public was urged not to respond to the issue with emotion.
He asked the residents to restrain themselves and fully submit the process of handling the problem to the Papuan People’s Assembly (MRP) who has the authority to follow up.
“I understand the public’s feelings about this incident, but we should not be easily influenced by issues that can divide us. Let MRP work according to its duties and responsibilities,” said Albert Wopari, Friday (10/24/2025).
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive atmosphere in Waropen Regency and Papua in general which has been known to be peaceful and harmonious.
“The most important thing now is to keep Papua good, peaceful, and peaceful,” he concluded.
