Agats, Asmat – An Armed Criminal Group (KKB) from Kodap XVI Yahukimo, led by Elkius Kobak, carried out another act of armed violence by shooting a civilian named Indra Guru Wardana in Kolf Braza District, Asmat Regency, on Sunday (September 21, 2025). Following the shooting, the perpetrators also set fire to the victim’s house until it was completely destroyed.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., confirmed the incident. He stated that the chronology of events is still being collected due to difficult access to the location.
“The crime scene is located quite far from Suator Police Station, and communication in the area is limited, so we are still gathering complete data regarding the incident,” said Brigadier General of Police Faizal.
The Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., explained that the perpetrators were estimated to be around six individuals, with one of them carrying a long-barreled firearm equipped with a scope.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 is currently continuing security measures and further investigations. The Indonesian National Police emphasized that the state will not be defeated by acts of armed violence and that the safety of the people remains the top priority.
