Papua Pegunungan – The hope to create a peaceful atmosphere and support redevelopment is echounted by traditional figures in Lanny Jaya Regency. Lanny Jaya’s Indigenous People’s Institution (LMA) figure, Yele Wenda, invited all levels of society to unite to maintain security, as well as support the steps of security apparatus in protecting residents from the interference of armed groups.
According to Yele Wenda, peace is the main requirement for people to be able to do normal activities, both in education, economy, and socio-cultural activities.
“All we want is a safe and peaceful life. No more interference from groups that disturb the community,” he said.
He also assessed that the existence of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz has had a positive impact on maintaining regional stability. Full support is given by the people of Lanny Jaya towards the law enforcement carried out by the apparatus against armed criminal groups and other parties who try to interfere with the country’s sovereignty.
Furthermore, Yele Wenda appreciated the performance of the officers who are considered capable of uncovering various criminal cases that have threatened security in Papua. According to him, the success is not only a form of state assertiveness, but also a form of protection against civil society.
“We support measurable law enforcement measures. The task force is here to protect the people, and that’s what we feel,” he said.
He added, the synergy between the local government, security apparatus, and indigenous people needs to continue to be strengthened so that the development in Lanny Jaya can run without obstacles.
“If it is safe, then the school can run, the market is still open, and children can learn without fear. That’s what we hope together,” said Yele Wenda.
With the support of indigenous people, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz is expected to be more steady in carrying out its duties to maintain stability in Papua. This spirit of togetherness is believed to be able to create a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
