Dogiyai Regency Won 1st Place in Central Papua Student Cultural Festival

Nabire, Central Papua — Dogiyai Regency made a proud achievement by successfully winning the 1st place in the Central Papua Province Student Cultural Festival at the SMA/equivalent level, which was held from September 1–9, 2025 at the Central Papua Governor’s Office, Morgo, Nabire.

This success became a pride for the Dogiyai contingent. The reason is, the participants had to go on a long and challenging journey to arrive at the activity location. However, the enthusiasm and hard work shown by the students as well as the full support from the local government paid off with the first place.

Plt. Head of Elementary, Junior High, and High School of Dogiyai Regency, Benedictus Goo, expressed his gratitude for the achievement. He emphasized that this victory could not be separated from the quick response of the Dogiyai Regency Education Office when receiving an official invitation from the Central Papua Provincial Government to participate in the festival.

“We are very proud of this achievement. This achievement is the result of collaboration from all parties, starting from students, accompanying teachers, to full support from the service. Hopefully this victory will be a motivation for students at Dogiyai to continue to excel, both in academic and cultural fields,” said Benedictus Goo.

Appreciation also comes from various parties. Fransiska, one of the accompanying teachers, assessed that Dogiyai’s victory was a real proof of the students’ hard work.

“Children show high dedication in every preparation. This victory is purely the result of their struggle, supported by spirit and solid cooperation,” he said.

The Central Papua Student Cultural Festival itself is an important event in preserving local traditions and arts, as well as strengthening relationships between students from various regions. Through this festival, the younger generation is expected to not only hone their arts and culture skills, but also to grow a sense of brotherhood and pride as a Papuan child.

With the achievement of the first place, Dogiyai Regency is expected to continue to be the driving force of cultural preservation as well as a role model in building a young generation with character, creativity, and competitiveness.
