Puncak Jaya – The Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of Puncak Jaya Police conducted a crime scene reconstruction of the shooting case against the late Police Brigadier Ronal M. Enok in Lima-Lima Village, Pagaleme District, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Monday (August 18, 2025) at around 12:16 WIT.
During the activity, the investigation team led by AKP Safri Panterengi, Head of Investigation Unit of the Law Enforcement Task Force, recreated the positions of the victim, perpetrators, evidence, and distances around the location of the incident.
The crime scene reconstruction was carried out to clarify the chronology of the shooting incident that occurred on January 21, 2025, which resulted in the death of Police Brigadier Ronal.
The reconstruction established several key points, including the position of the victim when he fell, his motorcycle, helmet, and kerosene jerry can, the position of the perpetrator Kindiku Tabuni alias Gumbanak when he fired at the victim, and the vehicle used by another perpetrator, Konara Enumbi, who was arrested by the Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz personnel on Friday (August 15, 2025) at 10:40 WIT in a honai in Usir Depan Village, Puncak Jaya Regency.
Konara is suspected of being directly involved in the attack together with the armed criminal group led by Bumiwalo Telenggen. He has now been secured and is undergoing further examination by the investigators of Puncak Jaya Police.
Additionally, the team found evidence in the form of three 9 mm shell casings and two gold-colored projectiles, which are considered important evidence in the case.
The investigators also recorded the distances between the positions in detail, from where the victim was located to where the evidence was found. This data will strengthen the investigation process and the legal proceedings against the perpetrators.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that this activity is part of professional law enforcement efforts against the armed criminal groups that often spread violence in Papua.
“This reconstruction is an important step in ensuring the clarity of the incident’s chronology and strengthening the existing evidence so that the perpetrators can be prosecuted under the law. Operation Peace Cartenz is committed to thoroughly investigating the shooting case of the late Police Brigadier Ronal M. Enok,” stated Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
On the same occasion, Head of Public Relation of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public not to be influenced by provocative issues and to continue cooperating with the security forces.
“We call on all the people of Puncak Jaya to work together in maintaining a conducive situation. Immediately report any suspicious activities from armed groups. Operation Peace Cartenz will continue to safeguard security and protect the people,” emphasized Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo.
Through this crime scene reconstruction, the National Police reaffirms its commitment to uncovering the truth transparently and enforcing the law firmly. Operation Peace Cartenz together with Puncak Jaya Police will continue the investigation process until all perpetrators involved in the shooting of Police Brigadier Ronal M. Enok are prosecuted under the applicable law.
