Paniai, Central Papua – Members of the Peace Operation Task Force (Satgas) of Operation Damai Cartenz from the Paniai sector carried out a routine patrol at Aikai Port on Sunday (August 10, 2025). The patrol was led by IPDA Nofri Surya Rossa, the field control officer, with the aim of maintaining security stability and ensuring the community’s sense of safety in the coastal area and along the strategic water transportation route.
During the activity, the Satgas personnel engaged directly with the community, conveying safety and order advisories (kamtibmas), and ensuring that the conditions around the port remained safe and conducive. The community, including women and children, warmly welcomed the presence of the officers.
The Head of Operation Damai Cartenz, Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., who was accompanied by the Deputy Head of Operation Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum, stated:
“We appreciate the sector patrol in Paniai as a real example of a humane and professional approach. Although we are not always present in the field, we continuously monitor and support to strengthen the relationship between the authorities and the community, fostering greater trust.”
Additionally, the Public Relations Officer of Operation Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., added:
“Our presence is not only to maintain security but also to serve as close partners with the community. Approaches like this are crucial to keeping the situation safe through dialogue and humanitarian efforts.”
The patrol at Aikai Port will continue regularly by the Satgas of Operation Damai Cartenz as an anticipatory measure against potential security disturbances and to strengthen relationships with local residents.
