Sarmi, Papua — In the eastern part of Indonesia, where health facilities are still a luxury for some residents, especially the elderly, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz is present to bring hope through Free Health Service activities in Ansudu Village, East Coast District, Sarmi Regency, on Wednesday (7/30/2025).

This service is not only about drugs and medical examinations, but deeper: about caring, recognition, and the presence of the state that reaches out to the most vulnerable levels of society.

A number of elderly people seem enthusiastic to participate in blood pressure check-up services, health consultations, and light treatment. For them, this is a rare concern that means a lot.

“We usually have to go far to meet the health workers. Now, the police are coming to our village, and we are very grateful,” said Maria Mamei, a local resident with teary eyes.

This activity was welcomed by Adam Beny Mersua, a community figure as well as the Government of Ansudu Village. He assessed that free health services from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz is a real form of concern that the community has been waiting for.

“We appreciate the highest level of this activity. The elderly are a group that is often neglected, but today they are the main ones,” he said.

Head of Operation Peace Cartenz Brigadier General Police Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that the operation he carried out was not only focused on law enforcement, but also embraced the community with a humanist approach.

“We not only want to maintain security, but also take care of life. Providing health services to the elderly is a form of our commitment to be present comprehensively—as a protector, servant, and friend of the Papuan people,” said Kaops.

Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., also added that this activity is part of the social communication strategy to grow trust and strengthen the relationship between officials and residents.

“The apparatus must be present not only when there is a problem, but also when the community needs love and attention. This is the face of the National Police that we want to build in Papua,” he concluded.

With the spirit of humanity and consistent service, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz shows that building peace is not always through weapons, but also through the touch of love for those who need it most.
