Puncak, Central Papua — Four members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) from Kodap III Sinak officially pledged their allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The solemn ceremony was held on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) in the courtyard of the 1717-02/Sinak Military Subdistrict Command (Koramil) Headquarters, Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, from 13:50 to 14:50 WIT.
The four former KKB members were part of the group led by Tenius Kulua and Kalenak Murib. They are Enden Tabuni alias Petiago, Erenus Tabuni alias Sembilan, Kilistu Murib, and Yopi Tabuni. During the event, they openly declared their willingness to return to the fold of NKRI and abandon the path of violence. Their pledge was read aloud and signed in the presence of security forces, local government officials, religious leaders, and traditional elders.
This activity represents a tangible example of the synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), local government, and community leaders in creating a peaceful and conducive atmosphere in Papua. The persuasive approach that has been prioritized has proven effective in touching the humanitarian side of those on the opposing side, encouraging them to return and contribute to development.
The entire process ran safely, orderly, and with deep emotion. Community leaders, religious figures, and traditional elders who attended welcomed this step and reaffirmed their commitment to continue rejecting the presence of KKB in their region.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stated that this process was the result of collaborative work among all parties.
“This return to the fold of NKRI does not happen in isolation but is the fruit of synergy among all elements – security forces, government, and local leaders. We believe a safe and prosperous Papua can be achieved through approaches that touch the heart,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relation of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 Task Force, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., added:
“This pledge of allegiance is evidence that a humanistic approach and open dialogue can pave the way for sustainable peace in Papua. Reconciliation is the truest expression of humanity; every citizen has a place to return to and a future to build together. We invite all parties to continue supporting this process so that safe, comfortable conditions that encourage development can be realized for the people of Papua.”
This pledge of loyalty is expected to become a turning point for other groups to also join the peace effort and abandon actions that disrupt stability. The government emphasizes that the door for reconciliation and development remains wide open for anyone who wishes to return and work together to build a peaceful, harmonious, and dignified Papua within the framework of NKRI.
