Manokwari – The Regional House of Representatives (DPRK) of Manokwari has called for unity and cross-sector collaboration following the conclusion of the 2024 regional elections. The formulation of the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) 2025–2045 is now a key focus, aligning with the national vision of “Indonesia Emas 2045.”
Deputy Chairperson I of the DPRK, Suriyati Faisal, emphasized that political differences should be set aside now that the elections are over. She encouraged all elements of society to work together in advancing the region.
“The elections are over. Let us work together to build the Manokwari we love. Politics is dynamic, and differences of opinion are a natural part of democracy,” said Suriyati.
The RPJPD will serve as the guiding document for Manokwari’s development over the next two decades. It will prioritize strategic sectors such as education, healthcare, local economic empowerment, and the inclusion of women and youth in development processes.
The DPRK also underscored the importance of addressing issues like stunting, poverty alleviation, and domestic violence prevention. Efficient management of Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds and optimization of Local Revenue (PAD) are seen as critical to ensuring that public spending directly benefits the people.
The newly elected regional leaders are scheduled to be inaugurated on February 20, 2025. The DPRK hopes that this transition period will be used to strengthen cooperation between the government, legislature, and community in building an inclusive and sustainable Manokwari.
