Jayapura, June 1, 2025 — A member of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) who was injured during an attack by an Armed Criminal Group (Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata/KKB) in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, is now in stable condition and has been transferred to the Bhayangkara Police Hospital Level I, Pusdokkes Polri, Kramat Jati, Jakarta, for further medical treatment on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that the injured officer was initially treated at Bhayangkara Hospital Kotaraja, Jayapura, before being transferred to Jakarta for advanced medical care.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Level II Jayapura, Chief Commissioner of Police Dr. Rommy Sebastian, explained that the victim had received initial medical care according to standard operating procedures (SOP) at Bhayangkara Hospital of Papua Regional Police before being referred.

“The patient is currently stable and was transferred to Jakarta on Sunday, June 1, 2025, for further treatment by a team of medical specialists,” said Dr. Rommy.

He also mentioned that the patient’s recovery process will depend on the outcomes of further medical procedures and care at Bhayangkara Hospital Kramat Jati. During the referral process, the patient was accompanied by a medical team from Bhayangkara Hospital Kotaraja, Jayapura.

“We kindly request prayers from the public for the patient’s full recovery and return to duty,” added Dr. Rommy.

In a separate statement, the Head of Public Relations for Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and continue supporting the recovery of the injured officer.

He also assured that the situation in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, is now under control, with community activities back to normal. Police personnel remain on high alert to safeguard the security and stability of the area.

“The situation in Wamena is currently conducive. The community has resumed normal activities, and our personnel remain on standby to maintain safety and public order in the area,” concluded Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo.
