Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains — The Department of Improving the Executive Competency of the Indonesian Ambassador of the Pancasila Paskibraka Center (DPPI) in the Papua Mountains region officially started the selection process of candidates for the National Level of the Heritage Flag Flying Force (Paskibraka) in 2025. As many as 12 best students from various districts in the Central Mountains region of Papua follow the provincial level selection stages which are carried out strictly and professionally.
Head of DPPI, Dedi Sutrisna, explained that from the 12 selected participants, only 6 best students will be selected to continue to the central selection stage. From that number, the 2 best students will be sent to represent the Papua Mountains as candidates for the National Paskibraka on the anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17 at the State Palace, Jakarta.
“This selection is not only about posture and discipline, but also about excellent physical and mental health. The process is carried out professionally, transparently, and with national standards,” said Dedi.
In this selection stage, all participants will undergo a series of comprehensive health tests involving about 6 to 7 specialist doctors, ranging from orthopedics, internal medicine, thoracic, heart, ENT, to hearing function examination. This aims to ensure that every candidate is physically prepared to carry out responsible state duties.
Dedi also expressed his appreciation to all parties, including local governments and schools in the Papua Mountains region, who have supported the development of the young generation through the Paskibraka program.
“We want to prepare future leader candidates who are not only physically strong, but also uphold the values of Pancasila and nationality,” he added.
The selection of Paskibraka candidates is not only a place to find the best sons and daughters in the region, but also a moment of character formation, discipline, and nationalism spirit among the young generation of Papua.
This selection activity is planned to take place for the next few days, and the students who pass will undergo further coaching before being sent to the central level. With the spirit of “From Papua to Indonesia”, DPPI Papua Pegunungan hopes to send the best representatives who will bring the region’s fragrant name at the national level.
