President Prabowo Distributes 13 Sacrifice Cow Tails to the Papuan People in the Celebration of Eid al-Adha 1446 H

Jayapura, May 23, 2025 — Welcoming Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah, President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, distributed the aid of 13 sacrificial cows to the people in Papua Province. The assistance was given as a form of attention and concern for Muslims in Bumi Cenderawasih.
Assistant II of the Papua Regional Secretariat (Setda), Setiyo Wahyudi, revealed that the aid to sacrificial animals from the President this year is different compared to previous years, both in terms of quantity and distribution patterns.
“This year, the President not only distributes assistance to the provincial level, but also reaches out to the district and city governments in Papua. Each region gets one sacrificial cow with a minimum weight of 800 kilograms,” explained Setiyo Wahyudi when met in Jayapura, Friday (23/5).
From a total of 13 cows, one was allocated to the Papua Provincial Government, while the other one was distributed to the Jayapura City Government. The two cows will be distributed through two different mosques, so that the benefits can be felt directly by the community in their respective locations.
Setiyo added that the sacrificial animals sent by the President have superior quality, according to the standards set for sacrifices, and have been checked for health by related agencies.
“The cows have gone through the inspection process and are ready to be distributed in a healthy condition and worthy of slaughter on Hari Raya,” he added.
The distribution of this sacrificial animal is also monitored by relevant parties so that the distribution process is on target and runs smoothly, with the hope of bringing blessings and strengthening solidarity among religious communities in Papua.
The Papua Provincial Government expressed its appreciation for President Prabowo’s attention to the people in the eastern region of Indonesia, especially in religious moments such as Eid al-Adha which is loaded with the values of sincerity, togetherness, and social concern.
“This is a form of the President’s real attention to the Papuan people. Hopefully it will be a motivation and spirit to continue to maintain unity and diversity in Papua,” concluded Setiyo Wahyudi.
The President’s sacrificial cow assistance is expected to strengthen the relationship between the central and regional governments, as well as be a momentum to strengthen gratitude and social concern among citizens in the midst of the celebration of religious holidays.
