Police Invite Enggros Residents to Preserve Peace Through a Human-Centered Approach

Jayapura, May 2, 2025 — Brigadier Victor Merani from the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025 visited residents of Enggros Village, South Jayapura District, on Friday (May 2) as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the police and the local community. The approach was simple: show up, greet, and listen.
This visit was part of the routine agenda of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, which prioritizes a persuasive and community-based approach, especially in areas considered vulnerable or in need of greater attention regarding security and public order.
On the occasion, Brigadier Victor encouraged residents to maintain a peaceful and secure environment in their village. He delivered public safety messages in a relaxed, informal setting while chatting with residents along the shores of Enggros Beach.
“We’re not here just as officers, but as members of the community. We all share the same responsibility to keep this village safe and comfortable,” said Brigadier Victor.
The police presence was warmly welcomed by the residents. The meeting was informal and friendly, filled with light conversation and story-sharing.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, explained that such initiatives are part of a strategy to build closer and more sincere relationships with communities.
“Dialogue-based engagement is our way of building trust. It’s not just about being present — it’s about being present with empathy,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, the Head of Public Relations for Operation Peace Cartenz-2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, emphasized that a human-centered approach will continue to be a cornerstone of field operations.
“Security stability is not just about the presence of authorities, but about building mutual trust between police and the community,” said Yusuf.
This initiative is expected to serve as a bridge for stronger collaboration between local residents and security personnel in maintaining lasting peace in Papua.
