Mimika Regency Government (Pemkab), Central Papua, through the Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning Service (DP3AKB), encourages women to actively work in various fields. This effort is done so that women can contribute to improving the welfare of the family and play a role in the development of the region and the nation.
Mimika Regency Government realizes that until now there are still many women facing various challenges, including violence and inequality. Therefore, DP3AKB emphasizes the importance of solidarity among women to support and inspire each other.
Head of DP3AKB Mimika Regency, Priska Kauum, emphasized that women have great potential to be agents of change and innovators in various sectors. He encourages women not to hesitate to utilize their potential, whether in the economic, educational, social, and political fields.
“Women must dare to take a wider role, including in leadership and politics. Don’t be afraid to speak up and show your skills. By uniting and supporting each other, we can create positive changes for the community,” said Priska Kauum.
He also added that one of the biggest challenges faced by women today is that the number of violence against women is still high. Therefore, she invites all elements of society to play an active role in protecting women’s rights and creating a safer and more supportive environment for them.
“We want to see more Mimika women who are independent, brave, and competitive. The Mimika Regency Government is committed to providing guidance and training so that women can further develop and make a real contribution to the development of the region,” he added.
Through various empowerment programs, the Mimika Regency Government hopes to open up more opportunities for women to progress and actively participate in various sectors of life, for a better future.
