From Soldier to KKB: Yuni Enumbi Becomes Kodap Commander, Arrested by Police, Sebby Sambom Confirms

Central Papua – The spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM), Sebby Sambom, has confirmed that Yuni Enumbi, a former Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldier, had sold firearms to their group. Sebby made this statement on Monday, March 10, 2025.

“That is true. I have received reports from the Jambi Regional Commander in Puncak Jaya Regency,” said Sebby.

According to him, Yuni Enumbi was part of the regional defense command unit in Puncak Jaya, Central Papua. Sebby also claimed that Enumbi had supported Papua’s independence struggle even while serving as a TNI soldier.

“That is one defense command area (Kodap) there. That is Yuni Enumbi. We recognize him because he has supported the TPN,” he stated.

Furthermore, Sebby mentioned that Yuni Enumbi had served as the Regional Command Leader in Puncak Jaya.

“He worked under the Intelligence Assistant. Yuni Enumbi is the Kodap Jambi Commander in Puncak Jaya Regency,” he added.

Meanwhile, Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Rudolf Renwarin revealed that the arms trade involving the former TNI member, identified as YE, amounted to IDR 1.3 billion. The police concluded that the firearms were manufactured by PT Pindad.

Patrige explained that YE had been discharged from Kodam Kasuari since 2022. He was dishonorably dismissed due to previous involvement in the illegal arms and ammunition trade for the armed criminal group (KKB).

“The weapons were shipped by sea from Surabaya, then transported overland from Jayapura to Wamena,” Patrige stated in a press conference at Papua Police Headquarters on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

This statement further highlights the involvement of former soldiers in the ongoing armed conflict in Papua, which remains a complex issue in the region.
