Yalimo – The Cartenz 2025 Peace Ops Task Force collected evidence in the form of clothing belonging to Nikson Matuan alias Okoni Siep that was used when Aske Mabel admitted himself as the Commander of the East Balim Yali-Yalimo Kodap on October 31, 2024. The process of taking the evidence took place on Monday, February 10, 2025, and was led directly by the Head of the Investigation Task Force of Kompol Suheriadi, S.I.K., M.M.
The collection of evidence is part of the investigation and collection of evidence in the ongoing legal process. This activity involved a number of personnel from various task forces, including Waka Intelligence Task Force AKP Safri, Padal I AKP Budi Basrah, S.E., M.H., Padal II AKP Lukman Luking, S.H., as well as around 20 ODC-2025 Task Force personnel.
At 13.35 WIT, the joint team departed from Gakkum Post to Nikson Matuan’s house in Aluis Village, Yalimo. Arriving at the location, the team then secured two main evidences, namely one black shirt and one black pants.
After the collection process was completed, the team returned to the Gakkum Task Force Post. The entire series of activities runs safely and under control without any obstacles.
Kaops Peace Cartenz Brigadier General. Police. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H. accompanied by Wakaops Damai Cartenz Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum. emphasized that the actions taken by the Task Force are part of the law enforcement efforts that are transparent and in accordance with procedures.
“The seizure of this evidence is an important legal step in the ongoing investigation. We ensure that all procedures are carried out according to the rules and still prioritize the humanist approach in the field,” said Brigadier General Faizal.
He also emphasized that his party will continue to try to maintain security stability in the Papua region, especially in Yalimo, as well as prevent potential disturbances that can disrupt public order.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of Cartenz Peace Ops, Kombes. Police. Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by various issues that can cloud the situation.
“We invite the public to stay calm and not be affected by issues whose truth is not yet clear. Let’s together maintain security and order in this region,” said Kombes Yusuf.
He also reminded that the police will continue to carry out their duties professionally in enforcing the law and providing protection to the community.
With the security of this evidence, it is hoped that the legal process can run more effectively and provide clarity on the case that is being handled by the Gakkum Task Force, the Investigation Task Force, and the Criminal Investigation Task Force of the Yalimo Police.
