Yahukimo – Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 has successfully captured Iyoktogi Telenggen, a fugitive from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who has long been on the Wanted List (DPO). Also known as Upinip Kogoya or Upinip Telenggen, he was arrested in Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua, on Monday, February 3, 2025, at approximately 1:11 PM WIT.
Head of Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., revealed that Iyoktogi Telenggen (46) is a resident of Komapaga Village, West Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua. He is known as the perpetrator of numerous violent acts that have claimed many lives.
1. June 25, 2021 – Involved in the shooting and assault of construction workers in Bingki Village, Seradala District, Yahukimo, resulting in four deaths and one injury.
2. October 16, 2023 – Played a role in a brutal attack on gold miners at Kali El, Seradala District, Yahukimo, which left 13 people dead and one injured.
Iyoktogi Telenggen had been declared a fugitive since November 2023 due to his involvement in various violent acts that threatened public security in Papua.
Seized Evidence:
• 1 traditional woven bag (noken)
• 2 head coverings
• A sum of cash in Rp50,000 and Rp20,000 denominations
• 1 wallet containing cassowary feathers
• Jewelry and other personal items, including bracelets, necklaces, and medicated oil
Iyoktogi Telenggen is currently in the custody of Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025 and is undergoing further investigation.
Kasatgas Humas Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the people of Yahukimo Regency to remain calm and not be provoked by issues that could escalate the situation.
“We urge the public to stay alert and not fall for unverified information. Security forces, both the National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI), will continue working to maintain order and security stability in Papua, especially in Yahukimo,” said Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.
