Papua Police and Cartenz-2025 Peace Operations Task Force Collaborate to Uncover the Case of the Shooting of Civilians in Yalimo

Jayapura– Head of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operations, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, who also serves as Deputy Chief of Papua Police, said that the Papua Police together with the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operations Task Force continue to collaborate in uncovering the case of the shooting of civilians in Yalimo Regency, Papua Mountains Province.

The shooting was allegedly carried out by KKB Aske Mabel, a deserter from the Yalimo Police.

This statement was made by Brigadier General Pol. Faizal while leading the morning roll call at the Papua Police New Headquarters Roll Call Field, Koya Koso, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, on Monday (13/1/2025).

“In the last few days, there has been a prominent incident in the jurisdiction of the Papua Police involving KKB Aske Mabel. “The perpetrator fled with a firearm and carried out nine shootings, resulting in five deaths,” said Brigadier General Faizal.

He emphasized that his party had deployed various units, including the Criminal Investigation Unit, Mobile Brigade, and Cyber ​​of the Papua Police, to support the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation Task Force and the Yalimo Police in uncovering this case.

Meanwhile, in a separate location, the Head of the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation Public Relations Task Force, Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, appealed to the public to play an active role in maintaining a conducive situation.

“Community involvement is very important in helping security forces maintain a conducive situation. We are committed to maintaining peace and providing a sense of security for the residents of Yalimo Regency,” said Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo.

The Papua Police and the Cartenz-2025 Peace Operation Task Force emphasized their commitment to resolving this case and continuing to maintain security stability in the Papua Mountains region.
