Keerom-Papua- In a concrete step to support food independence in Indonesia, Bripka Hery Tena from the East Manggarai Police and Brigpol Viktor from the Papua Police Public Relations are running an innovative program in Malompo Village, Arso VI, West Arso District, Keerom Regency, Papua Province. Through cooperation and strong determination, they have succeeded in transforming previously neglected idle land into fertile productive land, bringing new hope to the local population.

These two police officers understand the importance of food security amidst economic challenges and the needs of the local community. With a spirit of mutual cooperation, they began farming activities with residents, which are expected to produce a harvest for consumption by the local community, thereby reducing dependence on external supplies.

“This is not just a task, but a calling of the heart,” said Bripka Hery Tena in an interview on Saturday, November 2, 2024. According to him, this initiative is in line with the government’s efforts to achieve food security and self-sufficiency. This program proves that by optimally utilizing idle land, the community can obtain stable and sustainable food sources.

Brigpol Viktor added that the program not only supplies food, but also strengthens unity among residents. “We want the community to not only have food security, but also feel safe and confident in facing future challenges,” explained Viktor.

The actions of Bripka Hery and Brigpol Viktor show that with sincere intentions and collective efforts, positive change can be achieved. They inspired the residents of Kampung Malompo that development that starts from small steps and a sincere heart can have a big impact on shared welfare.

This program is expected to be an example for other regions to utilize existing resources and strengthen food security independently, making local communities not only recipients of aid, but as the main actors in building a brighter future.
