HMI Invites the Community to Support the Papuan Police in Maintaining Public Order and Security Ahead of the Regional Elections

Jayapura- The 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) is just around the corner, all true parties are involved in making this people’s party a success. In terms of security in Papua, it is not solely the responsibility of the Papua Regional Police, everyone must be involved until the regional elections are successfully held.

This was also emphasized by the Formateur/General Chair of the Coordinating Board (Badko) of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) of Tanah Papua, Charly A.K Lagefa.

He invited all Papuan people to support the Papua Regional Police in creating security in the Land of Papua ahead of the 2024 regional elections.

“Together with the Papuan Police, let’s maintain security and order. “Starting from our environment, where we live first,” said Charly to journalists in Jayapura, Friday (1/11/2024).

He also reminded the importance of being wise in using social media, especially as it relates to security in Papua.

According to him, social media can trigger undesirable things to happen if users do not first filter the information circulating.

No less important, Charly asked the public to be careful about information or content that has an SARA theme. “It’s smart to always filter all information circulating, racial issues and fragmented information before the general election. “We can’t just believe it, or just continue posting the truth of which we don’t know,” said Charly again.

According to him, elections are a people’s party that must be held with joy and joy. Regarding security, the public was asked by the main judge himself, whatever it was, he was obliged to report it to the authorities.

“We must also entrust security and law enforcement duties completely to the police after the election in accordance with their duties,” he concluded.
