Jayapura- The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Bintang Mountains Region carried out another cruel action by shooting indigenous Papuan civilians from Borme District, Bintang Mountains Regency, on Thursday 06 June 2024, at 07.00, WIT.
Head of Cartenz-2024 Peace Operations, Police Commissioner Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, when confirmed, confirmed the incident.
Police Commissioner Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, in his statement, said that, it is true that on Thursday 6 June 2024, at 07.00, WIT, a shooting was carried out by the KKB of the Bintang Mountains Region against an indigenous resident of the Borme District on behalf of Senus Lepitalen. The shooting occurred in Borme District, Bintang Mountains Regency.
Apart from that, Head of the Public Relations Task Force for OPS Damai Cartenz-2024, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno, when confirmed, said that a brief chronology of the shooting incident was, at 06.00 WIT, the victim warmed his body in a fire pit at the victim’s house.
“While the victim was warming the victim’s body, the victim heard a knock on the door of the house, then the victim walked to the door of his house and opened the door. “When the victim opened the door of his house, the victim was then confronted by a number of KKB members and immediately, the victim was immediately shot using a short-barreled firearm through the victim’s chest through the back.” Concluded AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno explained again that the victim’s body is currently being buried at the victim’s house, in Calap village, Borme District. The location of the victim’s house is close to the Borme District airfield.
“We can convey again that the late brother, Senus Lepitalen, was one of the victims of abuse and hostage-taking of PT employees. “IBS was carried out by KKB on May 12 2023, in Okbab District, Bintang Mountains Regency,” said Head of the Public Relations Task Force for OPS Damai Cartenz-2024, AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno.
AKBP Dr. Bayu Suseno added that the Cartenz 2024 Peace Ops Task Force will continue to pursue KKB who are actively disrupting social security and order in the jurisdiction of the Papua Regional Police.
