Jayapura- The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) has again spread terror in Paniai Regency, Papua. The latest incident occurred on Friday evening, May 24 2024, when a group of KKB threatened medical personnel, teachers, students and burned residents’ houses, which resulted in a tense situation for local residents.
No fatalities were reported, but several residents suffered minor injuries and psychological trauma. This action adds to the long list of violence carried out by the KKB in the Papua region, causing unrest and fear among the community.
Head of Peace Ops Cartenz 2024 Police Commissioner. DR. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., SIK., MH., through the Head of the Public Relations Task Force AKBP Bayu Suseno, SH., SIK, MM., MH., strongly condemned this brutal act and emphasized that his party would make maximum efforts.
“We will not remain silent, a joint team from the National Police and TNI is pursuing this group. We will ensure that security and calm in Paniai Regency return to normal,” he said.
AKBP Bayu further said that his party would increase security and provide protection to the community when carrying out activities.
“We will increase the number of security officers in vulnerable areas and carry out routine patrols to prevent further acts of terror because the safety of citizens is our priority,” he said.
