Jayapura – Chairman of the Paniai Traditional Council Melianus Yomai asked all parties to join hands to maintain security after the 2024 elections
“Even though during the election, our choices are different, let us now unite hand in hand like family, relatives and friends. We maintain relations for peace,” he stressed.
He also asked the public to understand more about the ongoing recapitulation process, without having to get involved in protests that led to disruption of security and social security.
“We all know that there have been several incidents that occurred related to the implementation of elections regarding who is right and who is wrong, for this reason, don’t be provoked by incitement or invitations from unrighteous individuals,” hoped Yomai.
Melianus hopes that the legislative candidates will accept the final results, but if there is fraud, it is better to report it or follow the existing process without having to mobilize the masses.
“Let’s accept the results of the election as they are. Regarding who is right and who commits fraud, let it be a personal matter with God,” he stressed.
Yomai also asked that no blood fall on the land of Papua for the personal interests of certain individuals.
“Papua loves peace, not because of the interests of certain individuals, there are casualties. Let’s set an example for our brothers and sisters outside Papua, if the democratic party in Papua is safe and peaceful,” he added.
