Papua- Entering the 3rd week of January 2024, the National Police continues to strive to maintain security in the Papua region. The presence or actions of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) at the start of this year have not yet been seen.
From the news circulating in the media that the National Police is extending its Task Force in the Papua Region, this Task Force is the Cartenz Peace Operation which is a program from the National Police Headquarters to provide security in Papua from the threat of the KKB.
National Police Chief Gen. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, during a video conference at the end of 2023, told his members involved in the Cartenz Peace Operation to continue to ensure that there was no disruption to Public Order and Order in Papua.
“Make sure there is no disruption to social security and order in Papua,” he said.
According to him, the TNI-Polri are at the forefront of overseeing all Government programs in the context of equitable development, especially in the Papua region.
“Of course, we as security forces can really be present to secure and also enforce the law against anyone who causes disturbances,” he explained.
He also conveyed the message that the Government has a special program, namely the development of DOB (New Autonomous Region). For this reason, this is proof of the seriousness of paying attention to the people, brothers and sisters in Papua
Security in the Papua Region is the most important thing in the progress of government and development in Papua. For this reason, the efforts of the National Police and TNI will continue to be optimized to prevent interference from Armed Criminal Groups.
