Jayapura – The Dogiyai Resort Police are currently handling a fire case at the Dogiyai Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) office on the Trans Nabire – Enarotali Road, Ekimanida Village, Kamuu District.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom., when confirmed, confirmed the fire.
The Head of Public Relations said the fire occurred on Sunday (3/9/2023) at around 20.30 WIT.
“The incident started when a witness received a report from the Head of the Bank Papua branch that there was a large fire burning next to the Bank Papua office,” said the Head of Public Relations.
After the witness checked from behind the office, he saw that the fire had grown and burned down the BKPSDM office and heard the sound of an explosion coming from the office.
“Suddenly the witness immediately reported the incident to the Dogiyai Police picket, then the guard picket responded to this.
“The fire could not be extinguished and burned down the entire Dogiyai District BKPSDM Office building,” he said.
Kombes Benny also explained that there were no casualties from the incident while material losses were still being investigated.
“Currently, the Dogiyai Police are still carrying out investigations in the field to determine the cause of the fire and the losses that occurred as a result of this fire,” added Benny.
After the fire, the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Regional Police appealed to all levels of society not to be provoked, to remain calm, and to hand over this case completely to the Police.
