Smart Cakrawala Aviation Plane Slipped at Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency

Jayapura – A Smart Cakrawala Aviation plane with flight number PK-SNB skidded at Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains, Friday (04/08/2023) at around 09.35 WIT.
The plane piloted by Capt. Herland Rumpoko and a technician named Aris Kurniawan, flew empty from Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport to Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency.
Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Kom, when confirmed, confirmed the incident.
The Head of Public Relations said that the plane was planned to pick up passengers at Kenyam Airport and during landing the plane suddenly slipped off the airport route.
“During landing, the plane suddenly skidded off the airport route. In the derailment accident of the Smart Aviation plane, there were no casualties,” said Kombes Benny.
According to Kombes Benny, the Nduga Police together with the Cartenz Damai Task Force and related authorities are currently still investigating the cause of the plane crash.
“The incident of the Smart Aviation plane skidding did not disrupt flight activities at Kenyam Airport. “Currently the plane is still on the edge of the airport and is being guarded by security forces,” he said.
Both pilots and crew after the incident were immediately evacuated to the District Hospital. Nduga to get intensive medical treatment.
