Jayapura- Willem Frans Ansanay, Chairman of the Papuan Consultative Body (Bamus), strongly condemned the inhumane acts of violence that resulted in 2 (two) residents from Toraja, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) died in Yahukimo, Papua Province Mountains, Wednesday / 3/5 / 2023.
According to Wilem Frans Ansanay, the heinous and disgraceful act was committed when they had just returned from church.
“The Toraja people who became victims were immigrants who contributed a lot to development in Papua, especially in the mountainous region,” he said.
He said, Toraja residents who were victims of these heinous acts were able to live in the mountains and serve for years as teachers, civil servants, laborers to traders. Their participation has been tested in participating in building our OAP community.
“They are also human beings just like us native Papuans. My note is that there are many OAPs married to people from Toraja and can live in love with each other and keep in mind also that the Toraja people come to work for a living and live side by side as church members, therefore there should be love between fellow Christians from various tribes including the Toraja tribe with OAPs in the Land of Papua, let us OAPs not antagonize them, “said Ansanay.
He continued, mutual love can be maintained if there is a deep appreciation that love is taught to Christians from the Lord Jesus Christ.
